The expected hiring range for this position is:

$63,200.00-$83,200.00.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

About the Role:

Fermilab is seeking a Waste Coordinator to perform assigned tasks involved in carrying out and monitoring the Laboratory’s Environmental, Safety, Health, and/or Quality Assurance (ESH&QA) programs in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, requirements and standards and all Department of Energy (DOE) orders.

What your day-to-day as a Waste Coordinator at Fermilab will look like:

• Entering and maintaining records on a variety of databases and generating reports; developing and modifying reports as assigned.
• Conducting basic ESH and/or QA inspections and investigations.
• Taking samples for environmental or industrial hygiene monitoring as assigned.
• Reviewing safety plans and procedures for completeness and accuracy; making recommendations for changes and improvements.
• Acting as a liaison with areas’ safety representatives and vendors.
• Providing established ESH and/or QA new employee orientation and other ESH and/or QA training.
• You may serve on an ESH and/or QA subcommittee.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Abiding by and being responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

Essential Competencies and Attributes for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree in or related field and 6 months experience.

Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

• Computer skills required for database entry and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Onsite: This is an onsite role, and the candidate must be able to work from our Batavia office.
