Join us today and apply now!The Impact You’ll Be Contributing to Moloco:We are seeking an outstanding Product Counsel with at least 8+ years of experience in AdTech, privacy & data protection, artificial intelligence, intellectual property and regulatory counseling to join our dynamic legal team. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel and Senior Director for Product Counsel, we seek an experienced Product Counsel who will help the legal department establish and execute strategies and processes to support Moloco’s scalable growth and build trust with customers, partners, end users and regulators.As Product Counsel, you will play a critical role in shaping Moloco’s legal strategy for new and evolving technologies. You will be responsible for advising on a broad range of product development matters, with a strong focus on privacy & data protection, and compliance in the AI-driven digital advertising ecosystem. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal issues at the intersection of machine learning, programmatic advertising, and global regulatory change.The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and excited to partner with cross-functional teams to drive business growth while mitigating legal risk.The candidate should be located near our Redwood City, California office and will be expected to be in the office on a hybrid schedule (e.g., several times per week or as needed).The Opportunity:

• Serve as a Product Counsel advisor to teams on AdTech, privacy & data protection, artificial intelligence, intellectual property and regulatory matters.
• Partner closely with the product engineering and product management teams to provide practical, risk-based legal advice across the product development lifecycle.
• Partner with the product organization to ensure compliance with applicable contractual obligations and other legal requirements while enabling innovation.
• Help build scale efficient and effective processes for legal review and launch of new products.
• Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and training programs to operationalize compliance across teams.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including security, marketing, and sales to understand and proactively anticipate legal issues regarding product development and go-to-market strategies.
• Stay informed on the latest legal and regulatory developments, enforcement trends, and industry best practices that impact Moloco’s business, including emerging regulations in privacy and data protection, artificial intelligence and digital advertising.
• Actively participate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and mitigate complex issues and risks while balancing business objectives.
• Advise on data governance strategies, including responsible AI principles, privacy-by-design, and ethical data use.

How Do I Know if the Role is Right For Me?

• 8+ years of legal experience advising clients as Product Counsel, with a strong focus on privacy and data protection, and AdTech.
• Subject matter expertise in privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CRPA), AdTech, and data protection is required.
• Member in good standing of the California Bar or another bar association with the ability to register as in-house counsel in California.
• Deep expertise in AdTech and privacy law, with a strong background in data protection frameworks and evolving global regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to counsel on complex, ambiguous, and emerging legal issues in a fast-paced tech environment.
• A pragmatic, business-minded approach to legal guidance, focusing on solutions rather than roadblocks.
• Excellent judgment, discretion, and risk assessment.
• Ability to provide concise, actionable legal guidance to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong work ethic and self-starter, with a growth-oriented mindset.
• Experience advising on AI governance and ethical AI considerations is a plus.
• A strategic thinker who can operate at both macro policy and micro product levels.
• Ability to manage competing priorities effectively, with exceptional project management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a global organization.
• Flexibility in working hours to support global product and legal initiatives.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships across the business.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgment while proactively driving legal innovation.

Preferred Experience:

• Subject matter expertise in artificial intelligence, intellectual property and regulatory counseling is preferred.
• Experience advising on programmatic advertising, real-time bidding, and first-party data strategies is a plus.
• Experience in a fast-growing technology company is preferred.
• Both law firm and in-house experience are preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous and rapidly changing regulatory landscape.

Our Compensation And Benefits (for United States Residents Only)In accordance with various state laws, the range provided is a reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
