This position provides daily maintenance support across Maurice K. Goddard State Park, including groundskeeping, facility care, and repair work. Your diligent efforts will help to ensure that the park remains clean, safe, and well-maintained for public use. As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:

• Facility Care: Clean restrooms, buildings, and common areas while performing routine repairs
• Grounds Maintenance: Mow grass, remove debris, and complete landscaping work across the park
• Construction Support: Assist with building repairs, sign installation, painting, and basic carpentry tasks
• Trail Upkeep: Clear brush, clean culverts, and maintain walkways and recreation areas
• Equipment Operation: Use park vehicles, mowers, and tools to complete daily tasks safely
• Visitor Assistance: Provide friendly information and support to park guests when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until October 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately in March 2027.
• Work schedule will vary. Work will be scheduled 5 days/37.5 hours per week and will include a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work may be scheduled on weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
