Equipment Coordinator/Crew Member – Civic/Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Team
Purpose:
The Equipment Coordinator / Crew Member is primarily responsible for maintaining and coordinating ESC’s vehicle fleet, equipment, and shop resources as a crew member on our Green Stormwater Infrastructure field team.
Job Duties:
Job functions may vary daily and may extend beyond the list below:
• Coordinate with PMs and Business Administrator as needed to perform, and appropriately document safety and maintenance training for use of all motorized equipment, including vehicles, trailers, chainsaws, tractors, etc.
• Regularly inspect and ensure that all vehicles and equipment are safe working order and compliant with applicable laws and regulations
• Coordinate with PMs and Business Administrator as needed to maintain equipment inventory lists and other documentation as needed.
• Coordinate with PMs and Business Administrator as needed for equipment repairs and/or acquisition, as needed.
• Coordinate and maintain a safe and orderly yard and shop area
• Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring all crew members adhere to safety policies and appropriate use of PPE and equipment.
• Work alongside crews to perform land management work, including but not limited to seeding, planting, weeding, trimming, mowing, watering, cleanup, erosion control.
• Operate trucks, trailers, and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and inclusive demeanor in interaction with colleagues and clients.
education and experience Requirements:
• 5 years experience operating and maintaining motorized equipment, tools, and vehicles
• 1 year prior experience in landscaping or construction
Qualifications and Required Skills:
• Valid Texas Drivers License and “clean” driving record
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds for brief or extended periods
• Must be able to work outdoors around the year
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Highly Motivated with strong work ethic
• Strong Communication Skills
Preferred Skills:
• Interest in native plants, ecology, and arboriculture
• Experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery and motorized equipment
• Bilingual English/Spanish
Working Conditions:
• 80% of time in this position will be spent in outdoor setting
• 10% of time will be in transit, either private vehicle, or a company fleet vehicle
• 10% of time will be documentation and support to PM’s
Hours:
• This position is temporary with potential for full-time hire after two week paid -training period, and will work 40 hours each week, Monday-Friday.
• ESC’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30am-3:30pm. The Equipment Manager/Crew Lead should be available during those times via phone or email.
Wage/Salary:
• The starting wage for this position is $23.00/hr.

Reporting Duties:
• This is a non-supervisory leadership position with no direct reports.
• This position reports to the Lead Project Manager for the Civic/GSI Team
