The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS), in both the College of Engineering and the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) is the largest academic department on the Berkeley campus, consisting of over 130 faculty, active emeriti, professors-in-residence, and adjunct professors, 3600+ undergraduates in both Engineering and CDSS, 750+graduate students, and 60+ staff. EECS programs are consistently ranked in the top three by many measures, including U.S. News & World Report’s national and global ranking. Annual operating budget (not including expenditures related to research. faculty start-ups, and student fellowships) for EECS is $40+ million.
The mission of the Berkeley Power and Energy Center (BPEC) is to further research and education in the power and energy area through engagement with industry. We seek to create an ecosystem where leading academic researchers and top industry partners can share and exchange ideas in pre-competitive research areas, advance the frontier of technology, and help educate the next generation of technology leaders.
The BPEC administrator provides support to the director and co-director, oversees the student and researcher office space, communicates with member companies, is responsible for the center website, digital resources for member companies, company on-boarding, and helps plan and execute the annual retreat.
This is a part-time (50% FTE) career position.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $30.58 to $36.71 hourly. This is a part-time (50% FTE) career position eligible for benefits. This position is FLSA Non-exempt and paid biweekly.
This position is governed by the terms and conditions in the agreement for the Clerical Unit (CX) between the University of California and the Teamsters Local 2010.
