The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to serve as our Watershed Systems Coordinator. Bring your valuable experience and help us protect and improve the water quality of the Mississippi River!
About the position
The Watershed Systems Coordinator manages MWMO’s watershed-wide hydrologic/hydraulic and water quality models and associated databases, performs analyses using the modeling results, and assists with project targeting and assessing potential opportunities consistent with the MWMO Watershed Management Plan. The coordinator will review analyses performed by others for technical soundness and provide support to project managers and planners throughout the entire continuum of stormwater and ecosystem improvement projects, including watershed planning and prioritization, feasibility studies, design, construction, and maintenance.

Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, water resources engineering, or watershed science, with an understanding of and experience using hydrologic/hydraulic and water quality models, the design and construction of stormwater management projects and practices, project/budget management, field inspection, and using GIS tools to assess land use, land cover, and environmental conditions.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, water resources engineering, biosystems engineering, watershed science, or related field.

Computer Skills
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc., who have a working knowledge and understanding of geographic information systems (GIS), hydrologic/hydraulic and water quality modeling, and their use in watershed planning
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is $65,000–$80,000 annually, with a flexible schedule of 40 hours of work per week and a competitive benefits package.
