Project Overview:

Fab 62 is an advanced semiconductor fabrication facility for Intel Corporation, located at Intel’s Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. As part of this work, the M&T team is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction scope required to complete and finish-outa leading-edge chipmaking facility – a highly demanding environment where precision, cleanliness, schedule certainty, and coordination across thousands of craft and professional personnel are essential to success. The project supports the continued expansion of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity, contributing to a more resilient technology supply chain while creating significant opportunity for the local Arizona workforce. Joining the Fab 62 team means contributing directly to one of the most strategically important construction efforts in the United States and helping deliver the infrastructure behind the next generation of microelectronics.”

Job Summary:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit (M&T) is seeking a Water Treatment Process Engineer to support a semiconductor project. Reporting to the Process Engineering Group Supervisor, this role provides technical coordination, discipline execution, and interface management for Semiconductor Waste Treatment systems.
“This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership” #LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

• Plans, executes, and reviews process engineering work for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinates assigned scope with execution offices, shared-work teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Develops work plans aligned with project scope, schedule, and budget, and supports client approval of process engineering deliverables.
• Provides expertise to project teams through all phases of project delivery.
• Provides leadership in the assessment of technical issues and contributes experience and expertise in the solution of difficult problems.
• Works with client system owners and other team stakeholders to ensure that systems meet client requirements and performance expectations.
• Conducts engineering deliverable reviews for water treatment projects.

education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor’s or higher degree in chemical engineering from an accredited university (or international equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant experience or 12+ years of relevant work experience.
• 8+ years of experience directly relating to and including design, engineering, specification, and construction of semiconductor (or similar high-tech) water treatment facilities.
• 5 years of experience with semiconductor wastewater reclaim systems.
• Professional Engineering license, or ability to obtain registration, preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of water treatment engineering principles and their Application to semiconductor water treatment systems.
• Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements and standards, including EPA, IBC, IFC, NFPA, ASME, ANSI, API, SEMI, and ISO.
• Experience supporting engineering deliverables across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, with an understanding of other discipline interfaces.
• Strong communication, prioritization, problem-solving, and influencing skills across clients, matrixed teams, and global shared-work teams.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and support the development of others.
• Broad relevant experience and flexibility to support water systems for M&T client facilities and operations.
