Water Resources Project Manager | Watertown, MA (Hybrid)Our Water Resources group is growing across New England, and we’re looking for a Project Manager/ Water Resources Engineer to join its dynamic team of Water Resource engineers and water quality specialists. In this position you will assist our clients with developing strategic, cost-effective, and forward-thinking solutions to their water resources, ecological restoration, transportation, and environmental challenges. You will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from site to watershed scale. Projects may include stormwater designs, bridge hydraulics and scour, stream restorations, flood mitigation and management, and coastal resiliency.Responsibilities

  • Identify both short-term deadlines, deliverables, and tasks as well as long-term client goals
  • Track budgets, schedules, staff availability, and ensure internal and external intermediate and final deadlines are met
  • Assist with identifying and pursuing new clients and leverage existing relationships to continue to provide valuable services to VHB’s existing clients
  • Assist clients with stormwater regulatory compliance and initiatives to develop comprehensive approaches that are efficient and sustainable
  • Conduct, or lead staff who are conducting, a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis
  • Support related water resources work such as integrated water resources planning, resiliency planning, watershed management and stormwater control planning, stormwater master planning, and NPDES permitting-related tasks
  • Prepare reports for stormwater analyses and designs
  • Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects

Skills And Abilities

  • Superior project management skills on water resource projects
  • Familiarity with stormwater management design, Low Impact Development/green infrastructure design, floodplain management, storm sewer design, grading, and site design
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with strong capability to motivate others
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Superior ability to collaboratively solve problems with stakeholders, clients, and teammates
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal permitting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/water resource engineering or related discipline, master’s degree a plus
  • P.E. licensure expected or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 5-8 years of stormwater, water quality, and/or regulatory experience, including project management experience
  • 8+ years of experience preferred
  • Experience supervising or mentoring desired
  • AutoCAD, and GIS experience strongly desired
