Services include: marketing communications consulting, brand development, graphic design, website management, social media management, market research, advertising, promotional items, print brochure creation, photography and video creation.The Videographer/Graphic Designer position at the Rotman School of Management focuses primarily on designing graphic elements for digital and online media for promotional and outreach materials, including managing the school’s Instagram and YouTube channel. They advise internal clients on marketing and advertising strategies for multimedia channels and present the multimedia work they create to clients for their approval. They research and recommend production topics, and use strong videography and photography techniques, including editing post- production audio and/or visual material, to capture desired results. This person ideally is able to film in both horizontal and vertical formats using standard video equipment as well as mobile phones. They are a digital storyteller, adept at interviewing and working with a range of people, who is able to communicates the energy of the School in new types of media and in innovative ways.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and producing videos and graphic designs that reflect Strategic Communications and/or Rotman’s objectives.
  • Designing graphic elements for digital, social and online media.
  • Researching and recommending production topics.
  • Presenting creative multimedia work for clients approval
  • Conducting videography and photography and/or videography shoots
  • Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance
  • Monitors Rotman social media channels using social media monitoring tools. Particular responsibilities include regular posting and production of reels and stories on Instagram and maintaining the Rotman YouTube channel

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in graphic design, video/audio production, interactive media design, journalism or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of relevant, recent experience in graphic design and multi-media production.
  • Experience with producing digital communications preferably within a higher education environment.
  • Experience with gathering relevant information for web and social media purposes.
  • Proven track record of recommending ideas for both internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience and impact in using images, video, and podcasting for web, print, and social media.
  • Must have experience successfully maintaining and executing a variety of web, print and social media assignments from conceptual stages through delivery and follow-up evaluation.
  • Advanced video and audio recording and editing experience is required.
  • Conceptual and working knowledge of the full Adobe Creative Suite, web content management systems, social media monitoring tools and Soundcloud is required.
  • Must have good video project management skills and have a stong understanding of content marketing best practices, trends and innovations.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; strong public-service orientation and evidence of effective teamwork are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties independently and carry out projects of varying complexity.
  • Willingness to develop and share technological expertise.
  • A self-starter with a passion for new media and the latest digital and social trends.
  • Must be a talented designer and be able to effectively reflect Rotman’s brand positioning through its digital channels.
  • Creative, resourceful and solutions-oriented; able to manage priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines; strong organizational skills and highly developed relationship management skills.
  • Must be able to come up with innovative designs that demonstrate a strong visual eye.
  • Must have the ability to make written language not only legible but visually appealing through a deep understanding of typography and the ability to design products that actively engage the user through multi media.

Assets (Nonessential):

  • Ability to code HTML 5.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Journalism.

USW Pay Band 11 — $75,223. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $96,196. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
