The Klamath Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) Network is hiring seasonal biotechnicians and a crew lead for 2026 to conduct Vegetation Monitoring research in Crater Lake National Park, Oregon Caves National Monument, and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Based out of the Klamath I&M Network office in Ashland, OR, this 5-6 month position requires frequent travel to perform data collection at the parks.
Members of our 4-person vegetation crew conduct vegetation and environmental monitoring at established plots in the parks. Strong applicants will be experienced in vascular plant identification and taxonomy.
Salary ranges from $19.52 to $24.18 per hour. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available.
Key position duties and details:
- Botany and plant ID
- Electronic data collection, data entry, and database management
- Camping while conducting fieldwork
- Hiking long distances with heavy packs to data collection plots
- Teamwork and being a member of a field crew
