The UX designer assesses the functional and content requirements of a product, develops storyboards, creates wireframes and task flows based on user needs, and produces visually detailed mockups. A passion for visual design and familiarity with UI trends and technologies are essential in this role, enabling the UX designer to bring fresh and innovative ideas to a project. Design tasks should be approached with a comprehensive understanding of design principles, ensuring solutions are intuitive and well-considered. Candidates should possess a strong ability to evaluate and justify their design decisions clearly and effectively. This is an advanced role, suited for individuals with a demonstrated passion for usability problem-solving and ideation in design.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreates user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, user needs, and technical constraintsIndependently designs, develops, and evaluates wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web applicationsContinually demonstrates fluency in visual design principles with extreme attention to details with little oversightMaintains and contributes to the design system, ensuring consistency across all products.Has concomitant experience in modeling and analysis software and workflows, with emphasis on Ansys-type productsJudges importance of, responds to, and prioritizes UX-focused software problemsCollaborates on and contributes to design and methods patents implemented in ANSYS softwareCollaborates with other designers, product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible and meet project goalsRequired Qualifications and Experience2-3 years of experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design processes and impactful results.BS or BA in Human-Computer Interaction, Design Engineering, or Industrial Design with 1-3 years’ experience or MSMaster-level expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Framer, Adobe XD, or similarSolid understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS).Experience with Adobe Creative Suite & CAD/CAE in any formExperience in the full development cycle for a software product, from ideation to shipmentIs detail-oriented and utilizes highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesUnderstanding of the software development process and ability to communicate well with software development teamsPreferred Qualifications and SkillsCertificate in HCIParticular Experience with:Modeling and simulation applications:Tools & technologies for UI implementation:Contributing to and leveraging a design system to ensure consistency and efficiency in designAbility to:Smoothly iterate on designs, taking direction, adjusting, and re-focusing towards a converged designThink critically, identify pain points, and design creative solutionsCommunicate succinctly and professionally via email, chat, remote meetings, usability evaluations, etc.Prototype rapidly using any tools availableAt Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
