We are looking for a User researcher to join our Digital Innovation team, dedicated to exploring, shaping and delivering new concepts that will delight our customers.As a User Researcher, you’ll advocate for our users and act as a thought leader in the domain of research. You’ll do this by embracing a mix of hands-on research and secondary research, synthesising information sources to deliver impactful insights.You will work across multiple projects within multi-discilpliary teams, always questioning assumptions so that you can identify key research questions and topics. In doing so, you will ensure our efforts remain customer-centric and focused on solving real user needs.Working across the project lifecycle, you will support the team with both generatvie and evaluative research. In doing so, you will be confident with a range of methodologies, planning and conducting both qualitative and quantitative research in order to best understand user behaviour and attitudes.You will apply a thorough understanding of Consumer Duty, GDPR and research best practice in order to protect research participants.You will directly be part of a small research team of three. In a growing function, you’ll be expected to be a self-starter and be able to proactively look for ways to improve current processes.This role is within the wider Digital and Integration team, sitting within the Chief Operation Office. The team is responsible for supporting the digital innovation initiatives with a focus on the mobile banking app.The team are looking to expand their research capabilities as the focus on discovery increases. We are looking to explore a wealth of areas with the aim of offering our members a differentiated offering that’s uniquely Nationwide.As an innovation team, we work in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment. - You will work closely with product and design and help them understand the user base and their needs.
- You will plan and lead research projects end-to-end to uncover insights that drive the team forward.
- You will conduct research using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- You will communicate insights and help drive action in the best interests of the user.
- Partner with the research team to build on research best practice and improve their process.
About you
- A demonstrable background working as a User Researcher.
- You possess a curious mind always questioning assumptions and testing hypotheses
- A keen problem solver looking at innovative ways to gather insight
- You are passionate about digging deeper to get a more granular understanding of needs and goals of users.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where projects are usually quick
- You’ll require strong written and verbal communication skills as you’ll need to deliver insights to both team members and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of regulations that impact the research practice e.g., GDPR.
- Competent using remote research tooling, for example UserZoom.
- Proactive self-developer, keeping up to date with the User Research industry and looking for ways to improve the practice.
- Enjoys collaborating with Researchers, Product Managers, Designers and Developers to conduct impactful research and drive insight to action in the best interest of our users.
