We are fortunate to work with faculty, staff, students, alumni, external vendors, and many other third parties. Working with Shared Services means working with a close-knit community of smart, approachable teams who collaborate, exchange knowledge, and identify solutions.Our team of expert problem solvers works with the community to ensure that we meet the end-to-end delivery and service level expectations of our diverse catalogue of services.PositionWe are seeking a creative, driven, and solution-focused Training Consultant to join our Service Innovation team. Reporting to the Manager, Service Innovation, and working closely with project teams, extended leadership, and subject matter experts, your role will be pivotal in helping users understand and adopt the evolving processes and technology that Shared Services oversees.The Training Consultant applies specialized knowledge and experience in learning, curriculum development, and instructional design to create and/or facilitate exceptional learning experiences for process users and employees in a variety of learning modalities. The Consultant also provides project leaders in Shared Services with insights and recommendations on how to manage and implement training as part of transformation and continuous improvement.The position requires a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, independence, flexibility, and exceptional interpersonal skills. In many cases, the Training Consultant will be expected to lead and influence without formal authority.

Duties
  • Assessing the learning and training needs of users through engagement sessions/focus groups to support the implementation and sustained adoption of Shared Services process improvements and projects.
  • Developing training plans and delivering training to various audiences and through a variety of formats.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining training materials, such as user manuals, quick reference guides, toolkits, procedures, and online modules, using various platforms, etc.
  • Working with other team members to apply change practices such as communications, engagement, change networks, etc, to promote and sustain enduring change.
  • Managing and supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrating a broad understanding of the internal and external context in which the University and Shared Services operate.
  • Proactively identifying and interpreting information that impacts Shared Services plans.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or certification(s) in Training and/or Adult Learning or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in Training and/or Adult Learning.
  • 1-3 years of facilitation experience or instructing a group both virtually or in person.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems (e.g. Canvas)
  • Superb oral and written communication skills and demonstrated effectiveness as a public speaker and instructor, presenting information effectively to a variety of audiences. Bi-lingual in French is advantageous.
  • Experience in organizational change management, human resources, and large enterprise systems (e.g. PeopleSoft).
  • Proven ability to model professional, ethical, and collaborative behaviors.
