GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Wildlife jobshiringnearme.org Program Director, this position performs licensing and permitting work. Responsible for oversight and administration of a varying group of permit programs within the Wildlife jobshiringnearme.org Program (including but not limited to Wildlife Rehabilitation, Falconry, Scientific Research Permit, Educational Display permit, Zoological permits, etc.). This position coordinates the receiving, reviewing and processing of license and permit applications. Functions as frontline contact with partner agencies and the general and regulated public to assist with permit regulation and compliance. Works with Law Enforcement and other permitting agencies to provide technical assistance and monitor compliance with permit program requirements and regulations. Makes recommendations for and develops program administrative policy and procedures to ensure program efficiency. Suggests changes to program website and updates and resolves technical problems. May travel to attend meetings, perform inspections and/or to follow up on complaints and compliance of permittees. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
NOTE: Applicants that qualify as an LPS IV will perform highly complex licensing and permitting work including reviewing permit applications and issuing wildlife permits; creating compliance documents; querying data from databases; compiling complex information; making policy or programmatic interpretation recommendations; presenting permitting rules and regulations to regulated and general public; and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, codes, and statutes; Classification as an LPS IV provides the opportunity for significant involvement in program development for the permit programs they administer, in addition to administrative duties.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree by June 2025.
Experience:
LPS III: One year of data entry experience.
LPS IV: Two years’ experience with data entry, customer service and administrative procedures within the Wildlife Permitting Program.
NOTE: Experience may have occurred concurrently.
Licensure:
Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid state driver’s license.

Familiarity or experience with natural resources related projects.
