ToolmakerOur client is a leading manufacturer of rear view mirror systems and intelligent camera technologies within the automotive sector. They are looking to hire a Toolmaker into their team.The shifts for this role alternate every week from early shifts to late shifts as follows:
- Week 1: 6am until 2:30pm Monday and 6am until 2:15pm Tuesday to Friday
- Week 2: 12:45pm until 9:15pm and 1pm until 9:15pm Tuesday to Friday
There is a shift allowance attached to this role – please get in touch for information about the salary and benefits.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Repair and modify internal injection mould tools.
- Manufacture of jigs and fixtures for internal use.
- Liaise with Mouldshop Setters & Supervisors.
- Work on injection moulds whilst still in machine.
- Development of tooling processes & preventative maintenance.
- Comply with the TPM schedule and maintenance plan.
- Completion of paperwork-based activities such as TPM check lists, new-tool check sheets and pink ticket information.
- Maintain and look after Toolroom equipment.
- Undertake work in a timely fashion & to a high standard of workmanship at all times.
- Assist in team meetings for tooling related issues.
- Comply with the Health & Safety Policy and observe all the safety rules to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others.
- Ensure that you comply and adopt the 5S programme regarding the organisation of your work environment.
- Any other tasks that may be required as requested by the Toolroom Supervisor.
EDUCATION/TRAININGEssential:
- Full apprenticeship or time served as a Toolmaker
- Previous toolmaking experience
- All workshop practices
- Use of pallet trucks and lifting equipment
- Hot runner systems
- Injection Mould Tools
- Milling, Turning, Grinding, Polishing, Benching
Desirable:
- Current Forklift licence
- 2K Injection Moulds
- EDM
- Wire Erosion
