The Paediatric theatre team at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a patient focussed, friendly and enthusiastic registered ODP or Nurse to join our multi-speciality team.Our team cover urology, oncology, endoscopy, respiratory, thoracic and general surgery for paediatric patients and we have our own emergency CEPOD theatre. We have recently starting robotic surgery within paediatric urology and will be looking to expand this part of our service.Whilst previous scrub experience is preferable, full training will be provided giving the successful candidate a great opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills.Main duties of the jobAttached you will find the person specification document which provides more detail about the essential and desirable skills and experience needed for this role. - Practices and promotes the use of evidence-based practice
- Knowledge of current issues within acute health service.
- Understanding of personal accountability.
- Aptitude for caring for the anaesthetised and/or acutely unwell patient.
Desirable
- Experience of teaching and supporting learners in practice.
- Relevant resus qualification, ie Immediate Life Support
- Experience of working within relevant care setting
- Specialist theatre work-based learning course, or mentorship course, post-qualification.
- Interest in research to promote good practice
