| Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
This position supports a university-based marine genomics lab focused on whole-genome sequencing and de novo genome assembly of marine organisms. The Laboratory Technician serves as a core contributor to research aimed at understanding the ecology, evolution, and adaptation of ocean species through large-scale genomic analysis. The role requires fluency in both molecular wet lab techniques and bioinformatics; executing high-quality library preparation and sequencing workflows at the bench while also supporting the computational pipelines that process and interpret raw sequence data. This is a technically demanding position that extends well beyond routine technician duties, and compensation is set accordingly.
