You will lead successful implementation including training where appropriate. Creation of effective policies, ways of working measuring compliance including regular reporting to Commercial Directorate and the wider business.You will work closely with the Own Brand, Sustainability & Ethics, Waitrose Category Proposition Groups, (CPG), Exclusive Brands and Local & Regional (Commercial), Waitrose Retail Compliance, John Lewis Q&T team, Suppliers, Public Affairs, Commercial Sales, Government and Non Government organisations, systems (internal and external). To lead management of suppliers of services within scope of role.Through your Profession you will have the opportunity to develop and stretch personally and professionally to achieve your potential.Key ResponsibilitiesFood Safety Management Strategy – Define and implement product safety strategy based on own expertise, internal and external expert advice as it applies to Waitrose. Safe and legal trading for WaitroseInternal and External Account Management – Lead and develop the technical relationship with key accounts to enable a food safety framework; Horizon Scanning, Surveillance, Ashbury, AIB auditingCompliance Management and Training – Delivery of supplier and OB technical KPI reporting to manage risk and ensure complianceLeadership – Lead and support a technical team using Partnership Values to develop their potential and deliver the Waitrose Quality and Technical StrategyPeople Manager and Leader of a team – Act in accordance with the Partnership’s purpose and democratic principles, constructively participating in co-ownership, and demonstrating to customers and each other that it is a better way of doing business.
