Talent Acquisition Assistant ManagerWe are searching for an experienced Talent Acquisition Assistant ManagerRSM’s Talent Acquisition Department (TA) is spread across the UK and plays a crucial part within the firm nationally. We are responsible for the co-ordination, management, and strategic direction of the business’ recruitment across Early Careers and Experienced & Executive hiring. You will be accountable for effective day to day management of a team of delivery recruiters whilst creating and executing service line resourcing strategies that enhance direct hires but ultimately deliver the right candidates, ensuring both our candidates and hiring managers experience a truly market leading recruitment service.Working closely with the TA Managers you will build strong relationships with the HR People teams and Service Line stakeholders, Hiring Managers and Partners. You will be responsible for leading a small TA delivery team, recruiting for your own portfolio of vacancies as well as supporting with the implementation of recruitment strategies in line with the TA roadmap, ‘grow our own’ strategy, diversity agenda and help to position RSM as an employer of choice.About the job
- Managing a team of Recruiters, setting direction and deploying resources to deliver a recruitment service to stakeholders with accountability for the performance and results of the team.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for your own portfolio of vacancies (Briefing, screening candidates, advertising on relevant channels, creating Talent Maps and insights, through to offer and onboarding)
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the team, whilst ensuring they are equipped with the direction and tools they need to source and map the market positioning opportunities to potential employees.
- Promote and positively approach new technology available to the team, leading from the front to establish and deliver a best- practice process that is clear to all parties.
- Gather an understanding of required skills gaps within your service line and drive activities that will help to build a warm pipeline of candidates
- Working closely with the TA Managers, share TA vision and strategy with your team and stakeholders.
- Engage proactively and ensure a positive experience for hiring managers and candidates, suggesting, and implementing process improvements as necessary across the team.
- Communication of the team operating standards, ensuring essential procedures and policies are followed. Using the high-level guidelines given by the TA Managers to set employee performance objectives, conducting regular check-ins and lead productive team meetings.
- Work in conjunction with the TA Manager to review all data available from Phenom, Power BI, Central Trackers and make informed recommendations for recruitment process or route to market improvements.
- Act as brand ambassador for TA, build robust sourcing strategies, ensuring 100 % of the talent pool is opened up, keeping usage of agencies to no more than 25% of roles whilst helping to enhance RSM’s employer brand, encouraging the business to also become brand ambassadors.
- Work with the TA Attraction Manager to create compelling messages that resonate with your target candidates
- Be the first point of contact for any hiring manager escalations within area of responsibility on concerns or issues, own them and work to resolve these directly.
- Partake in Ad-hoc projects as required to help ensure the TA function is consistently enhancing its offering.
Team AccountabilityTA Assistant Managers are responsible for the team being trained or qualified to deliver a comprehensive TA service in the following areas;
- Taking a full and comprehensive brief for each vacancy to gain a deep understanding of the relevant business area and team for which the hiring manager is recruiting.
- Vacancy lifecycle management – from researching prospective candidates to screening and shortlisting, advertising roles on relevant channels, through screening ensuring an exceptional onboarding and new joiner experience.
- Pro-actively source direct candidates and build long term relationships with talent that is both ready now and for the future.
- Engage with senior managers and all staff to increase the number of referrals by promoting the referral scheme
- Supporting and directing hiring managers on recruiting best practice, interviews and selection techniques.
- Liaising with recruitment agencies, including PSL updates, effective communication, ensuring all candidates receive positive and timely feedback.
- Responsible for ensuring that all systems are kept up to date for reporting.
- Engaged and involved in TA wider projects
About the ideal candidate, what we’re looking for:
- You will already be/ have been operating within a TA function, leading a team with senior hiring accountabilities and proven solid experience in Talent Acquisition.
- Previous line management experience, able to motivate and lead the team to deliver results.
- Results driven – can demonstrate a strong track record of your own delivery and results.
- Demonstrable experience of working strategically.
- Ability to lead a team of recruiters, delegate tasks and development of team skills as required.
- Provides recruitment insights, expertise and technical guidance to the team, employees, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Transformation/Change – experience of working within a changing environment, constantly striving for best in class.
- Actively contribute to process improvements with recent demonstrable examples.
- Communication/ interpersonal skills – you must be an adept communicator, ability to engage an influence across the business.
