The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Sustainability Intern for the 2026 summer.

The team

Avantor’s Climate Risk and Sustainability Analytics efforts are a key enabler of our customerfocused sustainability ratings and support compliance with EU, California, and other regulatory reporting requirements. This work focuses on the development of quantitative climate risk scenario analysis to help Avantor/VWR identify critical financial risks and opportunities associated with our climate and sustainability programs.

What we’re looking for

  • education: Bachelors Degree in Environmental Studies or related field is required; Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program
  • experience: Minimum 3-5 years of sustainability or related-fields is required
    • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Ability to speak other languages fluently other than English

How you will thrive and create an impact

As part of Avantor’s Global Sustainability Team, the Climate Corps Fellow will build on Avantor’s double materiality assessment and initial Taskforce for Climate Disclosure (TCFD) reports to develop a formal climate risk scenario analysis, including quantitative assessments. Specifically, in this role you will:

  • Evaluate potential impacts/outcomes of two climate scenarios
  • Engage key stakeholders and align with Avantor’s Enterprise Risk Management process and strategy to enhance Avantor’s qualitative climate risk assessment disclosures.
  • Analyze operational, financial and reputational risk and opportunities to provide a topline view of potential mitigation costs, cost savings and revenue opportunities via a repeatable methodology.
  • Use the above work to support Avantor’s CDP Climate submission and EU CSRD and EU Taxonomy reporting preparation.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$37.50 – $57.50

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
