Support Officer
Salary: £25,148.00 – £30,443.00
Contract type: 1 year fixed term contract to cover Maternity leave
Working hours: 35 hours a week, 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday
Additional Info: You will be part of the out of hours on call rota 1 week every 4 weeks, additional payment made on top of salary (All to be discussed at interview), Driving license and access to a car is essential (45p per mile reimbursed for business travel)
Location: Oxfordshire, with office presence required at 6 Collins Street, Oxford, OX4 1NNRole OverviewAre you looking for a rewarding job to help young people live safe, happy and independent lives?As a Support Officer you will join our friendly and hard-working team in supporting independence, freedom and choice as a keyworker to young people. Aged between 16 – 24 and based across Oxfordshire as residents in our scheme, you will play a key role working towards achieve their goals to achieve independent living.Key responsibilities– Assess all new tenants and allocate beds according to procedures,
– Provide information and advice to service users in order to assist them in establishing and maintaining their tenancy,
– Ensure room checks and housekeeping void procedures are followed and that voids are kept to a minimum
– Ensure that tenancy/license is upheld
– Carry out risk assessments as necessary, liaising with other agencies where appropriate
– Promote user participation by providing information and advice choices to enable residents to participate more fully in decisions relating to them
– Ensuring residents are safe and able to manage risks as necessary, which often you’ll need to do with the help of partner agencies
– Carry out designated H&S checks and facilities management of the building, reporting and monitoring maintenance issues and liaise with internal departments.More about you…We want you to bring your knowledge and experience to play your part in improving people’s lives:– Experience of working in a customer-facing role, motivating complex and diverse client groups to sustain housing, health and/or work outcomes
– An understanding to motivate people who have complex and diverse issues, including alcohol or substance misuse, mental health trauma and behavioural challenges
– An awareness of Universal Credit, Housing Benefits and voluntary and statutory support agencies advantageous
– Flexible to be part of the out of hours on call rota, 1 week every 4 weeks (Additional payment made)
– Driving license and access to a car is essential
