  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
  • Serves as the installation Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) to comply with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements, developing and managing prevention and support programs and activities for sexual assault and other areas of interpersonal violence and victim needs, as directed by the Commander.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of prevention programs relating to sexual assault.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains an installation victim support system which must address a wide variety of issues and problems.
  • Serves as the installation Commander’s consultant for all sexual assault issues and represents the Commander and Deputy Commander on committees, working groups, conferences, and community meetings.

  • Obtain and maintain Security clearance
  • This position MAY be eligible for paid relocation- Permanent Change of Station -PCS costs MAY be paid. Specifics will be discussed with the Selecting Official.
  • Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

  • Degree or equivalent experience in the behavioral sciences or social work is desired
  • Must obtain and maintain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification and recertification from the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA), as specified in DoD and AF policy.
  • Up to 25% Travel possible. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware.
  • Must obtain and maintain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification and recertification from the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA), as specified in DoD and AF policy.

QualificationsFor additional information on direct hire opportunities with the Air Force please click .In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located .SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences is implementing and managing the installation level Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program and serve as consultant to the commander on institutionalizing core values.1. Knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc. relating to victim advocacy, sexual assault, and
other acts of interpersonal violence.
2. Knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles and concepts and practices relating to
the prevention of and response to sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence.
3. Knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating specifically to
sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence.
4. Skill in assessing program needs to accomplish goals and objectives, evaluate program status, and recommend
and/or implement solutions for improvements.
5. Skill in applying tact and diplomacy during difficult circumstances to advise and inform individuals and high
level officials on complicated, sensitive, and sometimes controversial issues.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and individuals to identify,
establish, modify, and provide victim support assistant

Desired Skills:
  • Two years of experience supervising military and government civilian employees.
  • One year of experience as a victim advocate.
  • Experience informing and advising senior leaders based on detailed understanding of Air Force and DoD policy.
