The Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy (MHLC) is hiring two (2) Summer Land Stewards to assist with a diverse set of tasks relating to stewardship of MHLC’s nature preserves. This position will involve both field (90%) and office work (10%). Responsibilities include assisting staff to manage and maintain MHLC lands and recreational trails, lead volunteer groups, and interact with community members through workdays and events and provide office support as needed. The Summer Land Steward will have the opportunity to learn about the workings of a land trust, trail development and land management strategies, network with MHLC Capital Region conservation partners, and gain meaningful experience with a non-profit organization. MHLC emphasizes skill-building and professional development for this position. This is a full-time, short-term position that reports to the Stewardship Director.
