What you will do

The Summer Intern will have an opportunity to work in the High Voltage Operations department at EDPR NA.

Main responsibilities:
  • Develop and standardize substation alarms, including defining alarm criticality, naming, and identifying conditions that require email notifications.
  • Evaluated substation analog and digital phasor data, creating documentation to drive system-wide standardization.
  • Garner hands-on experience through relevant projects and assignments
  • Bring a creative and optimistic attitude to the world of renewable energy
  • Participate in Summer Intern events and volunteerism
  • Learn about the U.S. energy industry and apply knowledge to various projects
  • Attend weekly ‘lunch and learn’ department presentation meetings
  • Provide support to designated department and department managers
  • Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to present results of efforts
  • Assist in administrative tasks as needed
  • Additional duties may be required

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
  • Current undergraduate (Junior or Senior) studying Engineering/Technology or currently pursuing an Engineering/Technology graduate degree
  • Proficient with electrical drawings
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
