You can read more aboutSalary and benefits: £90,000 – £108,000 plus bonus 16% – 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more!We are pleased to announce an incredible, new career opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Structuring Analyst to join our Structuring Team, embedded within the solutions function.Structuring is a newly established team whose mandate covers all investment product for which there is some capital component, spanning equities, fixed income, funds, credit and alternatives. We work alongside actuaries, portfolio managers, risk and proposition teams to develop investment solutions to meet the needs of end clients and wholesale partners. In addition to product development, the team is also responsible for creating sophisticated models for capital assessment, pricing, profitability monitoring and ongoing management of our propositions.We are seeking a Structuring Analyst to be part of this team – joining at this early stage, you will be working in a fast paced and greenfield environment to develop new strategies and products, and to help build on the foundations of the platform.Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain quantitative models to support product development, derivative pricing, risk management, portfolio construction, and hedging in the context of insurance products.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new propositions to maximise the contribution of the division to Phoenix Group.
  • Build and implement new tools for the wider investment team, that provide quantitative support in decision making, asset selection, deal structuring, and understanding/monitoring of risk
  • Implement new tools to enable the automation of various risk processes.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify and solve complex quantitative problems.
  • Establish strong relationships amongst the Business, Risk and Finance leaders, taking on board stakeholder feedback when designing and implementing solutions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third party service providers, including investment banks, asset managers, infrastructure providers, and investment platforms for in scope business

Essential

  • Experience building and maintaining models for pricing, portfolio construction and portfolio management of derivative strategies designed to solve specific needs of investors and/or hedge the risks associated with new investment products and propositions.
  • Demonstrable expertise in programming with Python (3+ years)
  • Strong derivative product knowledge or one or more asset classes (equities, fixed income, credit, funds, systematic strategies
  • Knowledge of structured investments or quantitative investment strategies
  • Good technical understanding of asset modelling methodologies
  • Practical understanding of various concepts in financial engineering e.g., stochastic calculus, risk neutral/martingale methods, derivative pricing and risk, financial statistics / time-series modelling, Monte Carlo simulation, optimisation algorithms, numerical analysis
  • Advanced level of Excel/VBA

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience of UK or European life insurance business, including exposure to liability and capital modelling, with profits, reinsurance and investment strategy.
  • Knowledge of the UK insurance regulatory landscape including Solvency II and Matching Adjustment
  • Capital modelling and pricing
  • Ability to develop and analyse hedging strategies and programs product/proposition developed within the team
  • Good technical understanding of cross-asset derivatives and asset modelling methodologies under risk neutral/real world measures.
  • Experience in dealing with the structuring, set-up and management of various types of investment vehicles (SPV/repack vehicles, regulated and unregulated collective investment schemes, contractual vehicles, investment trusts, etc.) and regulatory frameworks (Solvency II, Matching Adjustment, IFRS 9, IFRS 17I).

Qualifications

  • University Degree or ideally Masters’ Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
