To learn more about CMH, please visit our website at .Job Description:Salary$25.531- $27.659ScheduleDays, Evenings, WeekendsShift7.5 hoursExpected Average Number of Hours: 22.5 hours every 2 weeks (not a guarantee of hours)Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time Staff Scheduler. The successful candidate will work in partnership with our Full-time Staff Schedulers and Departmental Managers to fill immediate, short-term, and future staffing needs within our complex multi-union and non-union environment. The Staff Scheduler is responsible for daily maintenance of electronic schedules i.e. staff replacement, time changes, flex staffing, modified duties, etc, and providing timecard information to payroll for the processing of electronic time cards. This position will complete staff placement based on the skills and qualifications of the staff while following collective agreement language and non-union policies and procedures. This position will also manage staff requests such as vacations, illness, education leave, orientation, maternity leave, etc. following leadership approval.The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to frequent data entry, prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.Posted hours do not constitute a guarantee that shifts will not be subject to change.Key Responsibilities:

  • Fill staffing needs through the call-in process for short term shift replacement
  • Assist Full-time staff schedulers with filling future needs (greater than 72 hrs.) and process within guidelines of collective agreement language, and CMH policies and procedures including modified work programs
  • Approve shift change requests
  • Apply appropriate Premium rules (pay codes) within guidelines of collective agreement and non-union policies
  • Record shift results (filled/unfilled) and update contact persons regarding staffing updates on the unit via telephone and/or email
  • Attend daily bed meetings as a resource to confirm staffing compliment and/or provide updates on outstanding needs for further direction as requested
  • Provide daily updates (chart) of hospital needs to Leaders to inform and obtain further direction

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum one-year experience in staffing and/or scheduling in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in a related field an asset
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with scheduling software including Time and Attendance for staffing/scheduling purposes is a requirement
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities performing time sensitive tasks
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and be able to collaborate with a variety of disciplines throughout the hospital in an effective and respectful way, while maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience with Meditech is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required
