We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our client’s team near Albany, NY. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the financial aspects of large, complex construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and profitability.Responsibilities of the Senior Project Accountant will include:

• Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, schedules of values (SOV), project files, and company policies.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely requisitions and lien waivers.
• Format and establish project forecasts to meet internal and client reporting requirements.
• Lead monthly project forecast meetings and maintain accurate estimates to complete (ETC) for labor and expenses.
• Oversee timely management of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Manage financial closeout of projects.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships internally and externally.
• Review and interpret cost proposals.
• Manage and understand various contract types and delivery methods.
• Train and mentor junior accountants.
• Support the Accounting Manager or Controller with the monthly Work in Progress (WIP) process.
• Act as an independent accountant during project forecast meetings to mitigate financial risk.

Job RequirementsQualifications of the Senior Project Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience with a Construction Manager or General Contractor organization working on large, complex construction projects and/or joint ventures.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with CMiC software.
• Strong understanding of project execution processes, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, scheduling, anticipated costs, and project profitability.

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $100,000 – $120,000 plus bonus potential.To see a full listing of all our open positions, please visit:
