Overview

As a Civil Engineer in the Waste Management Practice for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Pittsburgh, PA office, you will work on civil and environmental engineering projects primarily associated with solid and residual waste facilities. These projects will require the completion of engineering tasks such as airspace, excavation, and fill volume calculations; preparation, review and compilation of technical reports; and stormwater management system, landfill grading, leachate management and landfill gas collection system designs. You will also assist with field work – Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) – for landfill cell, gas collection system, and cap construction and environmental monitoring of landfill facilities. In this position, you will interact with CEC office and field staff, clients, regulators, and contractors. You will contribute to the overall completion of landfill design, construction and certification projects. Your time will be split between the office and the field.

Qualifications

    Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Previous internship prefered
  • EIT certification preferred
  • experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, HydroCAD, , and/or stability software preferred
  • Ambition with a desire to learn and apply new skills
