Due to ongoing client wins and impressive growth, DAC Beachcroft’s Casualty Injury team is on the lookout for a Defendant Personal injury solicitor/Legal Executive/Paralegal at 4+ years’ experience. This is for a joint supervisor/fee earning role.Our Casualty Injury team focuses on employers’ liability and public liability claims, with claims valued up to £100k with supervisors and senior lawyers handling matters beyond this value.   • Efficient Case Management: Proactively manage your own caseload of multi-track matters to ensure deadlines are met and cases are concluded efficiently.
  • Supervision: Provide training and support to junior colleagues alongside our ‘Training Team’ to assist in their legal development, their understanding of the litigation process and with their handling of litigated claims more generally.
  • Clear Case Strategy: With support where needed, devising clear case strategies, balancing the commercial interests of both the firm and the client.
  • Client and Firm Needs: Ensure work meets client needs, firm’s commercial requirements, and quality standards
  • Working collaboratively: Where required, work collaboratively with other teams ensuring that you build your internal network of contacts.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply current technical expertise and case law to each claim whilst also maintaining and developing technical knowledge through training sessions and reading relevant publications.
  • Engage with Clients: Engage with clients and support business development plans to maximize opportunities to meet and build rapport, always acting as an ambassador of the firm.

  • Supervise and support a number of more junior lawyers on a day to day basis.
  • Effectively running of own caseload to ensure deadlines are met and cases managed proactively to conclusion.
  • Ensure work is carried out effectively to meet the needs of the clients, the commercial requirements of the firm and the quality standards to include:
  • Adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols
  • Achievement of agreed financial targets
  • Prompt billing and collection of WIP and disbursements
  • Prompt and accurate provision of MI
  • Supporting a clear case strategy which is adhered to, ensuring cases are run by you and your supervisees smoothly and balance the commercial interests of both the Firm and the client.
  • Applying appropriate and current technical expertise and case law.
  • Effectively managing risk and compliance issues within each case, ensuring any emerging problems are escalated promptly.
  • Engaging with clients where appropriate to maximise opportunities to meet and build rapport with clients, at all times acting as an ambassador of the firm.
  • Contribute to Business Development and client relationship activity in support of the Client Relationship Partner where required.
  • Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications.

Who you are

  • For this role, we would like to hear from:
  • 4+ year experienced personal injury solicitors/Legal Executives or Paralegals.
  • Can demonstrate supervisory skills or is looking to take that next step to being a supervisor.
  • Good organisation skills, able to work to deadlines, prioritise own workload, meet conflicting demands and has a strong work ethic.
  • Able to produce work to a high standard, with excellent attention to detail and concern for quality of service.
  • Somone who is enthusiastic about joining a well-established and highly thought of Casualty Injury (EL/PL) team and who can see themselves building a future with DAC Beachcroft.
  • Eager to collaborate and build lasting relationships with colleagues, becoming an integral part of a growing team.
