Department:Development, West Region, AZ/NV Market

Reports To:Sr. Development Manager,AZ & NV

AES Clean Energyis currently seekingaDeveloperfor itsrenewable energy projectsinAZ and NV.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

*Lead projectmanagement activities formultipledevelopmentstage solarandsolar+storageenergy projects

* Coordinate with the internalLand,Permitting,EngineeringandInterconnectionteams as well as outside consultants on an as needed basis to ensure that projects are meeting development milestones, development risks are being mitigated, and project returns are maximized

*Work closelywiththeOrigination andCommercialteamstoprepareRFP responses and other off-taker outreach

*Initiateand/or support relationships with localjurisdictionsto ensure projects are obtaining allpossible incentivesand have good standing within the local communities

*Maintaininternaldevelopment asset database with project inputs

*Compile, input, andmaintainupdatedfinancial model datafor RFP responses andasrequiredfor the development pipeline

*Assistin acquisition of development assets and/or platforms on an asneeded basis

* Support theLand,Permitting,EngineeringandInterconnectionteams on an as needed basis with research, analysis and in-person meetings or phone calls

* Researchemergingrenewable energy markets andsupport identification ofnew development prospects*Travel(30%)to locations throughout Arizonato support community meetings,projectpublic hearings, project site visits, tours,conferences,etc.



Desired Skills and Expertise:

*Organizational,technical,communication,management,decision making/problem solving, analytical and time management skills

*4-8 years’ experienceworking in the power industry (or related industries such as environmental, construction,and/or regulatory);2-4years’ experiencewith renewable development activitiessuch as interconnection applications, permitting, and/or siteselectionwithpreference for experience in AZ or NV

*Fundamental understanding of and ability to assess general economic impact of project related business decisions, and general understanding of how a financial model works

* Able todemonstrateexperience dealing successfully with peers, subordinates, management, and unaffiliated third parties

*Ability to think creatively about solutions to project issues

*Comfortable in a dynamicwork environment and industry

*Excellentcommunicationand organizationalskills

* Passion for renewable energy industry


* BS/BAdegreerequiredwith concentration inengineering, environmental,energy,planning,business,financeoreconomics

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $105,000 and $131,325/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes annual bonus. The benefits offered for this position are: medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off (including vacation, sick leave time, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
