As a Software Security Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of security strategies for cloud environments, focusing on encryption, compliance, and threat mitigation. You’ll collaborate across engineering, operations, and compliance teams to ensure that every layer of the platform meets the highest standards for performance, resilience, and data protection. This is a strategic, hands-on position with a direct impact on achieving SOC2 and FedRAMP certifications while continuously enhancing security posture.Accountabilities:
- Design and implement secure architectures across AWS environments aligned with industry standards and compliance frameworks such as SOC2 and FedRAMP.
- Develop encryption strategies to protect sensitive data at rest and in transit.
- Integrate security best practices into infrastructure and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Lead threat modeling exercises and establish a defense-in-depth strategy across systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure governance, risk, and compliance objectives are met.
- Provide subject matter expertise in security architecture and cloud-native technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and stay current on emerging security trends and tools.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing full-stack applications, with at least 5 years in a security architecture role.
- Deep understanding of encryption techniques, secure coding, and cloud-native application security.
- Proficiency in SOC2, NIST frameworks, and FedRAMP compliance standards.
- Strong expertise in AWS services, containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda).
- Experience with threat modeling, vulnerability management, and defense-in-depth implementation.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and leadership skills.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) for collaboration across Canada and beyond.
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
