Description
The MetaDor team, part of Amazon’s BuilderWorks organization, collects and analyzes metadata related to data usage across Amazon. Our services map service-to-data relationships, infer schema, and generate insights for Amazon service teams that influence data regionality decisions and performance versus efficiency trade-offs.
MetaDor is a critical service informing Amazon’s region flexibility data migration strategy. Teams rely on MetaDor’s insights to guide them through complex and ambiguous data migrations.
As a senior engineer, you will serve as the technical lead throughout the full development lifecycle, end-to-end, from scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery and maintenance. Provide design reviews for other engineers, including feedback on architecture and design issues, as well as integration, performance and scalability. You will design, implement, and maintain a highly-available, fault-tolerant, and distributed metadata management service.
Basic Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
-
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,700/year up to $251,700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
