Requisition Title: SIA – CHM231H5F Inorganic Chemistry I (Lab/Tut Demonstrator)Position Type: Lab/Tut DemonstratorCourse Title: CHM231H5F – Inorganic Chemistry ICourse Description: Atomic structure; periodic properties of the elements; bonding theories-ionic, covalent (valence bond and molecular orbital) and metallic; structure and bonding in coordination compounds of main group elements and transition metals; descriptive chemistry of the metals. Reaction mechanisms.Number of Positions (est): 2 positions. * Positions are dependent on actual course enrolment, and are not guaranteed.Course Enrolment (est): 160 studentsHours of work (est): 80 hoursClass schedule:Sessional dates of appointment: September 2024 – December 2024Salary: . The rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Qualifications: B.Sc. in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. Sound knowledge in contents covered in the course required. Previous TA experience working with undergraduate students in Chemistry laboratory and/or tutorial setting an asset to be able to demonstrate and deliver course content consistently within the UofT’s standards. Good communication skills are required as well.Description of Duties: Duties will include laboratory demonstrations, leading tutorials, marking laboratory reports, and/or quizzes/assignments.
