We are expanding our Service portfolio to include System Integration Services and as a result we will be creating a new team to lead these activities.As part of our expansion in Europe, Samsung Networks UK is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated ORAN Solution Architect to coordinate the delivery of E2E System Integration results for a Tier 1 customer in Europe. You will act as a Technical Subject Matter Expert for the RAN Application and hardware of the ORAN Solution commencing in Q1 2025.This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who can demonstrate a consistent record in delivering complex ORAN Telecommunications Solutions and has extensive experience in creating and maintaining highly satisfied customers. This role is based in Reading but will require travel to other project and customer locations in the UK and EU.Role and ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilitiesResponsible for the ORAN Application and Radio Hardware Release Management planning and alignment for all ORAN application and hardware aspects.Ensure that all of the Customers key requirements are included in the agreed Release in order to fulfil the project delivery achievementsManage ORAN Application and Radio Hardware Release risk and issues with the Customer and 3rd party vendors ensuring that acceptable workable Solutions are providedGuide the ORAN application supplier to align with the customers’ required Security requirements and ensure alignment of requirements with infrastructure architectsProvide Technical support to the Samsung SI Design team during the Design processBe the main point of contact for Application and Radio Hardware technical discussionsWork closely with the wider Architects to ensure the HLD and LLDs are fully aligned with the End to End Solution scopeBuild a strong working relationship with the Customer Domain owner and other 3rd party hardware suppliersAct as the Subject Matter Authority for any critical L3/L4 Technical discussions and provide a workable Software release plan to mitigate critical Product defectsMaintain a high level of expertise in ORAN specifications and provide guidance to wider System Integration team on related mattersWhat we need for this roleTo be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:Educated to Degree Level, preferably in Telecoms, Electronics or Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience in a relevant technical role in the telecom/IT sectorA deep understanding of the ORAN network architecture and designs for all technologies (2G/4G/5G) and specificationsConsistent track record in the delivery of complex large scale multi vendor System Integration Solution Release processes and documentationPrevious experience of designing multi vendor network virtualisation infrastructure solutions such as Open RANValidated customer and collaborator managements skillsExceptional communicator both internally and towards the customerExcellent organisational skills and an ability to anticipate customer’s needs and act accordinglyExcellent level of presentation, communication and planning skills.Ability to prepare & deliver complex technical concepts to a high standard within tight timescales.Fluent in spoken and written EnglishExcellent documentation writing skills, communication and presentation skillsExceptional ability to navigate large and complex organisations to build relationships and influencing capabilitiesWhat does success look like?Success in delivering the ORAN Application and Radio Hardware Release Plan on time and to a high standard – you will have developed and agreed a solid Release Management process with the Customer and ORAN 3rd party Vendors, structuring the Release governance and developing the means to communicate timeline adherence to ensure documentation is delivered on time as per the Project breakthroughs.Skills and QualificationsBenefits of working at Samsung includeHybrid working – 3 days in the office and 2 days at home per weekBonus scheme linked to individual, team and company performanceCar allowancePension contributionThree volunteering days each yearHoliday – 25 days plus bank holidays and an additional day off for your birthdayAccess to discounts on a wide range of Samsung productsAccess to a discount shopping portalPartner Colleagues are not eligible for Samsung Enhanced Paid Sick Leave but may be eligible for statutory payments from their payroll agencyUp to 20 (pro-rata) Partner Absence days per calendar year to be used in times of needA note on equal opportunitiesWe are an equal-opportunity employer and value diversity at our Company.
