Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild construction hoist elevators (man and material lifts).

• Fabricate and install new parts as needed to meet specifications.

• Perform MIG welding.

• Use oxy-acetylene or plasma torches for cutting metal with precision.

• Operate drill presses, grinders, and other machinery to create holes and fittings.

• Modify or replace structural components as needed.

• Inspect finished work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with safety standards.

• Adhere to company and regulatory safety guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.

• Maintain tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery in good working condition.

• Identify and report equipment repairs or maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in welding (MIG) and torch cutting.

• Experience using fabrication equipment such as drill presses, grinders, and saws.

• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.

• 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or construction equipment refurbishment (preferred).

• Knowledge of hoist elevators, lifts, or similar machinery is an asset.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.

• Comfortable working in a shop environment with heavy machinery and tools.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

• Commitment to safety and quality.

• Valid driver’s license is an asset.
