Students will examine how generative AI is reshaping our understanding of academic authority, information creation, and the value of knowledge. Course activities engage students productively and ethically in generative AI use while fostering their understanding of how it fits into the landscape of academic activity. Students participate in a series of tutorials that will help them build foundational skills for academic success such as creating study plans, taking notes, reading critically, and developing a growth mindset.Positions: Up to 1 position(s) available.Estimated Course Enrolment: 55Estimated TA Support: one (1) TA.Class Schedule: Wednesday 5:00-7:00pmSessional Dates of Appointment: January 5-April 24, 2026.Salary:Sessional Lecturer I: $9,820.70Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term: $10,510.04Sessional Lecturer II: $10,510.04Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term: $10,760.28Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term: $11,030.36Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum Qualifications:

• A completed doctoral degree in information science or in a related humanities or social sciences field.
• A minimum of one year of experience teaching at the university or college level.
• Demonstrated engagement with professional development activities related to generative AI.
• Demonstrated experience teaching AI literacy courses

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience working with first-year university students.
• Demonstrated experience working with multilingual university students.
