Course description

An intensive basic course in spoken and written French for students who have studied some French, but who have not yet attained the entry level for FSL120H1.

Minimum qualifications:

• PhD in French literature/linguistics or in a relevant field
• University-level experience teaching multi-section language courses
• Strong expertise in course outlines, planning, preparation of teaching materials
• fluency in French and English

Preferred qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of the use of Quercus, specifically test manager and communication tools.

Description of duties:

• Responsible for all aspects of delivering an in-person university credit course including:
• Teaching a French language course (6 hrs per week /6 weeks)
• Preparation of all class material, including tests and assignments, based on the assigned textbook chapters
• Liaising with prior course coordinators to ensure consistency with previous semesters’ offerings
• Office hours and email contact with students
• Marking of tests and assignments
