Course description: Insect identification and ecology, biodiversity and conservation, invasive species, insect-tree interaction, biological control, pesticide use, and integrated pest management.

Sessional dates of appointment: 1 January 2026 – 30 April 2026; please note that this position includes the completion of any course work and grading not completed by 30 April 2026

Salary (per half-course, inclusive of vacation):

Sessional Lecturer I: $ 9,820.70

Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $ 10,510.04

Sessional Lecturer II $ 10,510.04

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $ 10,760.28

Sessional Lecturer III: $ 10,760.28

Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $ 11,029.28

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum qualifications: Preferably holding a Ph.D. or working towards a Ph.D. degree with extensive experience in forest ecology and entomology; teaching experience an asset.

Description of duties: Co-teach course with professor. Prepare and deliver lectures, organize guest speakers, maintain course notes and readings, organize lab and fieldwork sessions, set and mark course assignments, which may include mid-term, essay and final examination or other assignments, with the support of a TA; compile, record and submit final marks. Be available to students through regular office hours.
