In order to deliver our Business vision, it is critical that our Enterprise Architecture (EA) is aligned with our business and technology strategy.Reporting directly to the Director of Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, this role will take on accountability to ensure the enterprise technology solutions are aligned with the business, technology and data strategy and our business priorities.As a Senior Technology Architect you will be accountable for embedding the vision of EA function, and create road-maps for business, data, applications, and technology. You will be working closely with Principle Architects and influencing a wide variety of Business and Technical Stakeholders, understanding overall Business, Technology and Data Strategy, organisational fit, compliance and on-going business requirements.This is a fantastic opportunity for an architect with a keen interest in driving transformation through the effective use of Enterprise Architecture models. We will therefore need you to be adept and proven at navigating across the different business domains and CIO teams and building effective working relationships with their architects.We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28-35.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. You can also find out more about our approach to .If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What you’ll be doingAs the Senior Technology Architect, you will play an important role in the leadership of the EA and Technology Strategy, with a particular focus on architecting data and technology solutions aligned to Business needs.You will be responsible for:
- Consulting and supporting different Nationwide business domains, understanding Nationwide’s data and technology ecosystem, its inter-dependencies and constraints, and architecting fit for purpose and robust data and technology solutions
- Collaborating with Principle Architects to define the target data and technology architecture which conforms to the Society’s data and technology guardrails, policies and standards
- Present the target data and technology architecture at the appropriate governance forums (Enterprise Architecture Board (EAB) and appropriate Technical Design Authorities (TDAs)
- Advocating the importance of EA and Data methodologies and frameworks in the delivery of Nationwide’s strategic data and technology architecture, and be able to demonstrate its conformance to both society and regulatory and mandatory standards.
- Maintaining appropriate architectural artefacts which can be consumed across the architecture community
- Working with the strategic vendors to both plan how to exploit their roadmap and to influence the roadmap to meet our future needs
About youThe minimum requirements for this role are:
- Experience in large scale transformation and integration projects (within technologies such as SAP S4 HANA, Microsoft Azure, Databreaks and API led technology architectures
- Experience in Cloud based technologies and digital transformation
- Demonstrable experience as an architect, who can articulate the benefits of taking an ‘enterprise’ approach and produce required data and architecture artefacts
- Evidence of deploying the EA and Data methodologies and frameworks which support the development and implementation of enterprise data and architecture solutions
- Experience of working in strategic enterprise and data architecture transformation initiatives and programmes
- Skilled at building relationships, negotiating, and influencing senior stakeholders from business, data and technology architecture
- Experience of setting a compelling architectural vision and communicating that to team members and other stakeholders
- Results and goal orientation, the ability to set realistic yet ambitious and measurable goals and objectives
