Job DescriptionJob ID#:4543Job Category:Accounting/FinanceWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff/Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Albany, NY. This is an on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to their financial operations and play a key role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency in their accounting processes.Responsibilities of the Staff/Senior Accountant will include:

• Prepare monthly general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Review monthly general ledger reports for accuracy and completeness, ensuring proper expense and cash payment processing.
• Maintain and record all prepaid transactions and track balances.
• Prepare monthly vouchers related to grant activities.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Play an integral role in the CFR process and submission.
• Reconcile general fund cash, client fund cash, and food stamp cash accounts monthly.
• Perform accounting entries for payroll and reconcile payroll-related expense and liability accounts.
• Support various audits, including annual workers’ compensation and disability audits.
• Assist the Director of Finance with electronic health record accounts receivable reports and financial analysis.
• Manage the Asset Management program, including labeling assets and recording monthly depreciation entries.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; work with the Director of Finance to improve system efficiency and address areas of need.
• Maintain expertise in Fund EZ accounting software and electronic health record billing systems.
• Provide cross-training to cover staffing needs as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job RequirementsQualifications of the Staff/Senior Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; an Associate’s degree with relevant work experience will be considered.
• Minimum of two years of experience in accounting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with accounting software; willingness to learn new systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
