It provides strategic technology and advisory innovation services to clients either 1:1 or through participation in its programmes.Read more about STA on our recently released report:You can also read about our innovation programs on our website:https://safetytechaccelerator.org/The RoleSafetytech Accelerator, in close collaboration with Lloyd’s Register, has grown its innovation activity and projects with LR’s key accounts and is now seeking to second a new team member from Lloyd’s Register to join as a Principal Consultant to support both programme delivery and market development.This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while driving meaningful innovation across a diverse range of clients. You’ll make a real difference by working for a mission-based organisation that drives technology adoption with a purpose.The ideal candidate will be an experienced, enthusiastic, “can-do” individual, with a positive attitude. You should have passion & interest for technology-led innovation and be keen to become one of the leaders in an agile, fast-paced and impactful venture.Job AccountabilitiesThe role will evolve alongside business needs, but responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of or leading project assignments with key accounts
- Being the point of reference on the technical and business content of projects
- Overseeing feasibility studies, trials and pilots with technology vendors, including reporting and evaluation
- Supporting the identification and development of new clients and business opportunities
- Contributing to the impact, growth and financial sustainability of STA
What we are looking for
- 10+ years of experience in a relevant shipping and/or energy role
- Demonstrable experience in a varied consulting-type role
- Strong knowledge of emerging technologies – in particular Digital e.g. AI/IoT
- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills
- Be comfortable switching seamlessly between delivery and market development
- Have proven experience of delivering and leading large projects
- A proven ability to describe and analyse complex technology solutions
- High degree of confidence with analysis, report writing and presentations

- This is a full time, permanent opportunity

- Compensation commensurate with experience; generous benefits.
- Hybrid with a mix of remote and indicatively 2 days per week at 71 Fenchurch Street, London.
