The Senior Manager, HIA Policy plays a critical role in supporting Alberta’s health sector through the complexities of health information legislation, with a focus on the Health Information Act (HIA). This leadership role involves providing strategic guidance on legislative interpretation, driving the HIA’s provincial implementation, and ensuring that policies stay effective and responsive to the needs of Alberta’s health system. In this role, you will also support external stakeholders directly, helping to shape Alberta’s health information landscape for the future.Key responsibilities:

.Our ideal candidate is someone who demonstrates the following competencies:Drive for Results: Tracking and using the data from the various team responsibilities to assess and adjust processes etc as necessary to ensure effectiveness.Systems Thinking: This position is responsible for maintaining the Health Information Act’s ongoing effectiveness which requires a constant systems view of how the Act supports the broader health system objectives. Considering emerging trends and issues impacting the interpretation and application of the Act.Creative Problem Solving: Supporting program areas requires effective listening to understand the issues before providing advice on the application of the Act is a common scenario for this role and the team at large.Develop Self and Others: Leading a team of policy advisors and analysts – developing knowledge and building capacity is a constant standard to uphold for the person in this role.Agility: In leading a team of seven policy team members, this position is responsible for a number of core functions that are impacted by changes in the organization. For example, needing to adapt to training needs for delivering mandatory training or demands on the inquiries to support department priorities to ensure compliance with the HIA. These shifts require clear and thoughtful change processes.QualificationsRequired:
