Location: Belfast / Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000VANRATH is working with a leading energy organisation driving major transformation across Northern Ireland’s electricity system. As part of their Future Power Systems team, they’re hiring a Senior Lead Engineer – Economic Analysis to help shape long-term energy plans and support the move to a low-carbon future.The RoleThis role is ideal for someone with strong modelling experience and a passion for sustainable energy. You’ll lead on scenario planning, analyse new technologies, and provide insights to support key energy projects across the UK and Europe.Key ResponsibilitiesLead technical modelling projects for energy scenarios and electricity system designAssess the economic impact of technologies like interconnectors and long-duration storageDevelop models aligned with UK and EU energy policiesPresent technical and economic findings to a range of stakeholdersSupport and guide junior engineers and manage external consultantsRepresent the organisation at national and European forumsAbout YouDegree in Engineering, Economics, Maths or similar5+ years’ experience in energy systems or power marketsSkilled in Excel, Python or other modelling toolsExperience with scenario planning tools (e.g., Plexos a bonus)Strong communicator, able to simplify complex dataWhat’s on Offer£50,000 – £60,000 salaryHybrid working (3 days in-office, 2 days from home)Free on-site parking and EV chargingBe part of projects shaping the future of energyInterested?
