Senior HR Business Partner, Media Solutions and People & Culture

Your role

Reporting to the Manager Human Resources, you will provide strategic HR support and partnership for Corporate Partners.

As an HR Business Partner for Media Solutions and P&C teams, you will partner with the management teams to build and to ensure the success of their people strategies. You will accomplish this by developing operational plans; leveraging internal centers of expertise; and offering new ideas, tools, and analytics to proactively address critical operational and people challenges.

You will be the first point of contact and support for Human Resources and Industrial Relations consulting while spearheading initiatives with an eye for aligning HR management practices with the specific needs and reality of your client groups.

You must demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively and exercise influence, work in a unionized matrix environment, exercise judgment, discretion and make decisions effectively. You apply these skills in areas such as labor relations, organizational development and change management initiatives.

This role would preferably be based in Toronto.

Please note that this is a 12-month temporary position.

Key tasks

  • Provide strategic advice to managers on a full-range of complex Human Resources and Industrial Relations issues.

  • Establish strategies that align HR best practices, industrial relations challenges and the reality of the digital and technology world.

  • Support and accompany leaders in matters such as performance management, industrial relations, organizational development, training, compensation, and staffing.

  • Ensure productive union-management relations by maintaining effective working relationships with union representatives locally and nationally.

We are looking for a candidate with the following

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, industrial relations or a related discipline.

  • Five to seven years of experience of progressive HR experience.

  • Experience in a large unionized work environment preferred.

  • Bilingualism, English and French.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with leaders, developing mutual understanding and exercising influence.

  • Ability to resolve complex human resources issues.

  • Ability to establish business partnerships and set priorities in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to support and influence leaders and employees at all levels.

  • Good judgment, the ability to make difficult decisions to resolve complex client and service issues, and the ability to make and support recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiatives and work independently.

  • Sense of adaptation to changes in activities and priorities.

  • Ability to make tough decisions to solve complex problems and support recommendations.
