With bases in Montreal and Quebec City, Chrono continues its expansion, reinforcing its position as a leader in the charter flight industry in Quebec and Canada.Role and contextThe Flight Dispatcher is responsible for planning, monitoring, and optimizing flights to ensure their safety, efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulations. Working closely with flight crews, maintenance services, and aviation authorities, the dispatcher coordinates flight operations, particularly for international flights, which involve specific regulatory, customs, and route planning requirements.Key responsibilities
- Oversee flight planning based on weather, routing, aircraft performance, and regulations.
- Ensure full compliance with Transport Canada, ICAO, and other regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with ATC, airports, and customs, especially for complex or international operations.
- Optimize flight routes to reduce operational costs (fuel, time, overflight fees).
- Monitor flights in real time and respond to changes or unexpected events.
- Communicate with flight crews, especially during critical or irregular operations.
- Manage in-flight emergencies and diversions with pilots and authorities.
- Validate payload distribution to ensure proper aircraft balance and safety.
- Review flight documentation and conduct internal audits.
- Recommend procedural improvements and support training of junior dispatchers.

Specific job requirements
- Valid Flight Dispatcher License issued by Transport Canada.
- Proven experience in flight dispatching, including expertise in international flight operations.
- Strong knowledge of ICAO regulations, NOTAMs, flight plans, and international customs requirements.
- Proficiency in flight planning and tracking software.
- In-depth understanding of aeronautical charts, navigation, and air route optimization.
- Experience in operational risk management and emergency handling.
- Knowledge of fuel management policies and flight cost optimization strategies.
- Additionally, a strong command of English is necessary to interact with English-speaking clients in Canada and worldwide.
