Job Description: SummaryThis is not just any Finance team…this is the M&S Food Finance team!Fully woven into the DNA of M&S, our Finance team plays a fundamental role in setting the pace for our key business decisions, shaping our budgets, analysing our sales, managing costs and making sure our most vital statistics and data are absolutely accurate.We are a looking to hire a Senior Finance Manager to join our FP&A Food team, managing a team of 3 and taking responsibility for driving Food business performance through financial insight and rigor. You will have a genuine passion to develop people – through coaching, mentoring and the desire to devote personal time to build people skills. What you’ll doYour key accountabilities will include

• Monthly Cadence: Co-ordination and management of month end processes. Manage short term profit outlook outside of formal reforecasting, collating and understanding updates from relevant teams across finance and the business.
• Budget & Forecast: Agree annual planning cycle and co-ordinate detailed timetables in line with Group FP&A. Support delivery of reforecasts and long-range planning, including monthly reforecasts, budget and 5-year strategic plans by collating the roll up of results and keeping HOF/FD informed of all risks and opportunities to the forecast.
• Reporting: Responsibility of the month end packs, periodic analysis of P&L performance metrics, working capital and capex, working to improve reporting to include relevant content in line with key initiatives and views of senior finance members.
• Cashflow: Responsible for free cashflow forecasting, budgeting and reporting variances for the Food business, working closely with group finance and BSC team to keep forecasts up to date and accurate. Improve current modelling and processes, updating regularly and efficiently.
• Leadership: Being responsible for developing a talent pipeline, team capability and ensuring that they are motivated, energised and upskilled enabling them to deliver as a high performing and curious team. Play an active part in the M&S Plc finance team as an advocate for both the Food business, Food finance and FP&A. Deputise for the HOF as appropriate in relevant meetings.

Who you areYour skills and experience will include

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) significant PQE
• Experience in a fast-paced retail, franchise, wholesale businesses or FMCG environment.
• Significant FP&A or similar experience.
• Previous line management experience needed.
• Power BI, reporting and financial systems experience
