As we continue to grow our Environmental Services practice, we’re seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Compliance Professional to join our team in Connecticut.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently prepare environmental compliance plans, including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Contingency Plans, and related regulatory documents.
- Prepare air permit applications and wastewater discharge permit applications.
- Complete annual environmental compliance reports, including Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory (Form R), Permit-by-Rule, Title V, Biennial Hazardous Waste Reports, and other required regulatory submissions.
- Perform air emissions calculations and prepare wastewater compliance reports.
- Conduct onsite environmental compliance assessments and provide technical support at client facilities.
- Perform Aboveground and Underground Storage Tank (AST/UST) compliance inspections and support tank system design projects.
- Support wastewater treatment system design and improvement projects.
- Manage multiple client accounts and environmental projects simultaneously while mentoring and supporting junior staff.
- Develop strong, long-term client relationships through exceptional service and technical excellence.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of environmental compliance consulting experience.
- Demonstrated expertise preparing environmental compliance plans, permits, and regulatory reports.
- Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations affecting industrial facilities.
- Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements clearly.
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to independently manage projects and client relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Willingness to travel primarily throughout Connecticut, with occasional out-of-state travel.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
