This role focuses on technical oversight, operational efficiency, and support for the Head of Technical Operations.What we offer:

Key Responsibilities1. Airbus A320FAM Fleet Airworthiness Management

  • Oversee the development, review, and optimization of aircraft maintenance programme (AMP) to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Ensure the timely incorporation of Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and other mandatory requirements into fleet maintenance plans.
  • Monitor aircraft reliability data and performance trends to identify and address recurring issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.

2. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all engineering-related activities meet the requirements of UK CAA Part M, Part CAMO..
  • Maintain up-to-date records of technical publications, manufacturer recommendations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Head of Technical Operations in a liaison with regulatory authorities, manufacturers, and service providers for technical matters as required.

3. Engineering Oversight

  • Lead the engineering team in the evaluation and management of modifications, repairs, and configuration changes across the fleet.
  • Approve engineering work scopes and solutions for complex maintenance, repair, or technical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance to support maintenance planning and operations and MAINTROL Team.

4. Team Leadership and Development

  • Manage and develop a team of engineers responsible for aircraft systems, structures, avionics, and powerplants.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and training to meet operational demands and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation within the engineering team.

5. Operational Support

  • Provide engineering expertise to support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery, technical troubleshooting, and operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Control (MAINTROL), line and base maintenance AMO, and other stakeholders to ensure effective technical support and minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination between the engineering team and other departments such as MAINTROL/Planning, Logistics, and contracted AMO.

6. Budget and Resource Management

  • Support the Head of Technical Operations in managing the department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining airworthiness and safety standards.
  • Monitor and control expenditures related to modifications, repairs, and engineering projects.

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Drive innovation and process improvements in engineering practices, leveraging new technologies and best practices.
  • Enhance data management and analytics to support predictive maintenance and fleet optimization.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an airline CAMO or technical operations environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK CAA Part M, Part CAMO, or equivalent regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience in managing aircraft maintenance programs, reliability analysis, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with aircraft systems, structures, avionics, and powerplants across multiple fleet types.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management systems (preferred AMOS).
