Description :As Senior Engineer I at , you will be responsible for helping to design, develop, and maintain robust applications using primarily TypeScript, React, React Native, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL, with other technologies utilised where necessary.This is a role where we expect you to be a proactive, autonomous contributor to the team – you will help lead technical decision-making, optimize system performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions, as well as participate in code reviews, mentorship, and ensuring best practices in software design.World 50 Group is investing heavily in our testing infrastructure (utilising E2E, integration, component and unit tests where applicable), so experience in, or a keen interest to learn, software testing practices is also favored.Key Responsibilities:

  • Senior technical resource contributing to code on your assigned project.
  • Accountable for engineering rigor, deliverables, code quality and mentoring within a project.
  • Documentation and socialization of designs.

Technical Governance

  • Works with Architects to recognize opportunities for improving existing systems and adopting new technologies.
  • Grow an understanding of the business, its operations and its stakeholders, using this knowledge to independently add value to the decision making process both for themselves and the team.
  • Participates in and contributes to the development and maintenance of current and aspirational state product architecture.

Individual Contribution

  • Independently identifies problems, related technical issues and the approach to long-term, repeatable solutions meeting stakeholder needs.
  • Works independently to design, develop, implement, test and support products for the business, creating new or modifying existing applications and tools to meet technical specifications or business needs.
  • Independently handles and resolves routine problems and moderately complex assignments, but may require assistance and guidance for more complex issues.
  • Conducts due diligence on new technologies by defining and delivering limited scope “Proof of Concept” implementations.

Team Leadership

  • Mentors other team members, sharing knowledge, tools and techniques.
  • Set an example of leadership, code quality, guidance, and professionalism.

Core CompetenciesMaintains and continues to develop:

  • Breadth of knowledge in software engineering topics, including coding, security, containers, version control, CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Breadth of knowledge in JavaScript/Typescript, service architecture and data persistence technologies.
  • Platform environments including but not limited to MacOS, Linux, cloud environments GCP.
  • Understanding of user experience best practices, test designs and standards.
