Who is Practi?We are a vibrant start-up focusing on improving the healthcare experience in the UK. We want to do this by freeing healthcare practitioners from the distraction of admin, so they can focus on providing the best patient care.If you recently attended a medical appointment, you would understand how challenging the experience can be. Unfortunately, the experience is not smooth for healthcare providers either. We are hence on a mission to improve the experience for both healthcare providers and patients. We have started on our journey by focussing on the Dental sector, and have an initial product offering that simplifies the pre-treatment experience including treatment financing.Practi, has been setup and is funded by Simplyhealth, an established player in healthcare. Simplyhealth is a purpose-driven B Corp, with the mission of improving access to healthcare for all in the UK. Being part of the Simplyhealth group, we operate to reinforce this mission.Why are we hiring?As a start-up we have launched our initial product offering and are gaining momentum. We are now looking at the next phase of our execution to iterate on our product and engineering solutions thereby accelerating our growth. To do this, we are looking to hire a senior devops engineer to our Engineering team. This role is critical to expanding our engineering capabilities to deliver valuable products and functionalities that our customers want.What would you do in this role?
- Design, implement, maintain and improve secure, compliant and low-maintenance cloud-based infrastructure, including observability solutions
- Collaborate with other functions including Product in understanding and prioritising customer-facing and internal problems that deliver value to Practi
- Collaborate with engineers to develop, maintain and improve Engineering solutions
- Support, mentor and coach engineers
- Contribute to fostering a healthy and productive work environment, promoting a culture of innovation
RequirementsWhat core competencies are we looking for?
- Effective communication, collaboration and project leadership skills
- Experience with building, maintaining and improving AWS-based infrastructure for server-side web-applications
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling including Terraform and Docker
- Experience with implementing and supporting observability solutions
- Experience with automation, including for CI/CD
- Good understanding of security best practices and tooling
What else about you would excite us?
- Experience supporting high-traffic web applications
- Experience of working in a fast-paced product-focussed environment
- Experience supporting development and implementation of InfoSec management systems for obtaining security certifications such as ISO27001 or SOC 2
- Experience in the finance domain
- Knowledge of TypeScript
